Camps can become productive educational ‘transition communities’ Instead of being places of isolation and need, camps can become ecovillages(GEN*) where refugees’ human and creative potential is realized, so that, if they depart, the land will be restored through permaculture, and the departing refugees will take away with them transferable skills and positive experiences of community and learning.* Global Ecovillage Network (see Useful references p.14).
