Facing the challenges of COVID-19
Materials workshop, 23-29 October 2020
In March 2020 the face-to-face teaching which P4R had been doing with refugees in camps came to an abrupt stop and has not been able to be resumed. Members of the P4R team in the Asia-West Pacific region decided to investigate the needs of host partners working in countries with refugees. Our host organisations, also members of P4R, were unanimous that they wanted suitable materials and curriculum to support courses.
Highlights of the workshop included sessions with P4R members BASD in Bangladesh, Sarah from Green ReLeaf in the Philippines, Blue Ribbon in Malaysia, Kat Lavers, and Morag Gamble sharing information on Permayouth. Professional development sessions on teaching online, developing videos, cartoons, written and visual training materials were completed to assist with the resource development.
