for translation into Refugee Languages
Our experience in Permaculture for Refugees (P4R) of teaching permaculture with refugees has shown that suitable good learning materials in their languages are missing. Materials need to be appropriate to regions and circumstances, as well as culture, literacy and prior education. This issue of equity and access taps into the Third Ethic of permaculture, that is, fair share or distribution of information and resources to change your situation.
P4R would like to select the best resources for translation – as print or screen – with a universal, easy-to-access classification system in the major refugee languages.
We invite you to please:
- Send a list of resources that you know are readily available online that we will be able to access easily. If you have the materials and are able to share them, please email us (see email below).
- Share/send a maximum of 10 resources (per person).
We will evaluate them, adapt them if necessary, share with people who want to translate, and then list them on our new upcoming website.
Please email your top 10 resources by 29 July 2022 to permaculture4refugees@gmail.com
