PDC in war time – a chronicle of a PDC taught in war-torn Kabul

In this document, experienced permaculture teacher Rowe Morrow tells the story of a PDC she was invited to teach in 2016, in the Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul to young people from 15 to 30 years old.
There are many insights and lessons about how teaching permaculture in places where the local culture and the circumstances may lead to reconsidering the syllabus of the course itself, so that it can respond more effectively to the actual people’s and land’s needs, and may lead to a different type of course or even outcomes then those we would typically expect from a PDC run in a peaceful western country.
